Cloud Setup
Connect and switch cloud providers
Understand AWS, Azure, GCP, provider switching, capability states, and reconnect behavior.
CloudWatcher uses one workspace for several providers. AWS has the broadest coverage. Azure and GCP are active integrations with feature coverage that depends on permissions and setup.
Basic steps
- Open the setup page for your provider.
- Add the required identity details.
- Save and wait for validation.
- Return to Dashboard and choose the provider and region.
- Open Billing, Alerts, and service pages after the provider has loaded.
Provider notes
- AWS is best for the widest monitoring, optimization, action, simulation, and migration coverage.
- Azure supports onboarding, inventory, billing and metrics where permissions allow, plus selected simulation and live-resource flows.
- GCP supports service-account onboarding, billing export setup, metrics, resources, alerts, and simulation groundwork where configured.
Provider and region selectors
- Always check the selected provider before reading dashboard numbers.
- Always check the selected region before assuming resources are missing.
- Billing can be global or delayed even when resource inventory is visible.
- A connected provider can still show limited data if a permission or export is missing.
